Do I Look Like a "Trina"????

Let me begin by saying that right now it is midnight, which is WELL beyond my normal bed time of 8:30ish. Plus I am in my last semester of Principal school (actually my last semester EVER in college period...I swear this time...for real) and I should be doing homework but alas, no.....I need to release some stress. SO, instead of using my time wisely, I am going to post about another useless, senseless topic!

I recently found out that our neighbor that we grew up with wrote a book. It is a fictional story ( so he had to change the names) but myself and my family are in it a good bit (or a least referred to). Actually, I, myself am only really referred to once.....as TRINA. To be exact it said ,"..during those years little Trina was an infant...."

Before I go any further, let me make a disclaimer. Trina is a perfectly good name. I really am not out to offend the Trinas of the world. If you happen to be a Trina reading this (which is highly unlikely since I don't personally know a single Trina and typically only people that I personally know read my blog) you need to stop reading and exit immediately! So Trina's ...consider yourselves warned....proceed at your own risk of a hurt feeling or two!!!

Now where was I...oh yes....I was at the part where my book name is Trina....Trina Townsend to be exact. (At the risk of offending others, let me just say if you name is Sandy you need to refer to the previous paragraph and replace "Trinas" with "Sandys" and follow the directive.) Now, as you know, my real name is Sandy and I must admit I am really not a fan of that name either....at all. So, since I am in the book (barely, but nevertheless, in it) and my real name could not be used, then I was hoping for a GREAT name....and sadly, Trina was not on my list....even in the top 100! I can hear many of you now...."that's not such a bad name....it could be far worse" and I do agree. However, in my own mind I thought I would have inspired Gary to pick a truly dynamic name. But I guess as an infant...I inspired Trina. Which just goes to show I must not have been a very dynamic infant. ( I warned you this post was useless and senseless so don't blame me for wasting your time!)

So, this whole thought process lead me to wonder what name others would create for me if they wrote and a fictional book with me in it (or just renamed me in general)? Hmmm...... I know...deep thoughts.......remember it IS now in the wee hours of the morning and I did have class Friday night, all day Saturday, AND all day Sunday...

The point to this post is that how other's perceive us RARELY matches up to how we WANT them perceive us....until next time :)

BTW...the book is called Sideline by Gary Lett. It is about football, among other things, and is quite enjoyable!!
