You would think that since I went to the Luke Bryan concert, then this post would about the really fun and very entertaining show but, alas it is not. It is, however, about getting to said concert. Even though it was in Auburn, at the new Arena (which is a very cool btw...) which is literally less than 3 miles from my house, it was quite eye an opening and I must say somewhat embarrassing experience.
Since I was was meeting friends at the concert, I jumped in my bad ride, aka the Honda mini van, and drove toward the University. I decided that the closest place I could park was the parking deck (side note....those who know me well know that I DO NOT believe in unintentional exercise...hence the closest parking space is vitally important to me!) so to the parking deck I went.
Here is where it gets somewhat embarrassing....so the second I drove in the parking deck I ducked! NOW, I consider myself pretty smart and quite well traveled...so WHY did I not only duck when I drove in the deck but got lower and lower in my seat as I slowly circled upward!!!! I knew this was not sensible and I even said out loud to myself...."Sandy, get a grip....the roof of the van is NOT going to hit the ceiling....so sit up and quite acting a fool!" but it didn't stop me. I finally found a parking place and THEN and only then did I sit up straight. I got out of the car and went to the concert.
As I said, the concert was great once it finally began. There were 3 opening acts so the main show didn't even start until after 10. When the show was over, I got back into my car about 12:30 a.m.
At that point I decided that I would not duck down this time no matterr what! So I got in my car and had to wait FOREVER ( or at least 15 minutes) for cars to go so I could get out. As the cars drove past I swear 85% of the people were ducking down too!
The point of this post is that no matter what we know with our intelligent mind...we still do dumb, irrational stuff sometimes..even when we know better.....until next time:)
