As you already know I hate cooking and cleaning BUT what I hate the very MOST is shopping. What kind of shopping you may ask...the answer is simple....ALL shopping. And in the last 3 days I had to buy a new outfit for my friend's baby shower/party, a gift for said shower and an outdoor dinning patio set ( because a bad storm broke the glass on our table at the lake).
I finished the first two shopping experiences with only minimal emotional scarring. However, shopping for the patio furniture was pure and utter torture. It made being water boarded sound like a trip to Disney.
So, mistake number one was taking Payne (my 14 year-old son) with me on this expedition. On the way to Home Depot we had to negotiate the percentage of his decision making ability. After an exhausting conservation, we finally "signed off" on 49% Payne... 51% me.
I also made the mistake of saying it had to be rectangular because of the deck space....Instantly the only word Payne could say was round.
When we got to the right section it all began. We looked, sat, spun, rocked, pretend to eat at each table for seemed like decades. We narrowed it down to 2.....however, Payne insisted that he would not be able to function if we didn't pick the "Augusta" set...while I was leaning
toward the "Mallorca" set. We went to another store to make sure there wasn't something better in the world.
So, we finally picked the one he wanted and had it loaded into the truck. I drove back to lake and Chris began to put it together. When he walked in the house he said "you're not gonna like this....but the glass for the new table came completely shattered." I will not tell you what I said because I try to keep this blog "G" rated ( maybe "PG-13" if we are gonna be real) but it was NOT WWJD sadly!
Anywhoo, I went outside to look..... and low and behold it was the WRONG damn set! So, I called the store and what had happened was they had the wrong damn signs on the wrong damn table. NOW, I have to take it back tomorrow and exchange....which will take for damn ever I'm sure!
The point of this post is shopping sucks....the end.....until next time:)
